Well, we are pretty much settled into a routine now, this (Friday) being our 5th day at sea. The news from home was what had been forecasted. Canton did receive some snow and the hill going into our community, Soleil, has been closed. Here is a photo from my back porch.
This is not a lot of snow for some areas, but for Georgia, it's more than we normally see in a winter.
Kay and I are waking at pretty much our normal time of 5:30-6:00. She heads to the gym and I head to the World Cafe for my coffee. I then head to the gym. I can't (won't) do anything before my morning coffee!
Yesterday was a beautiful day, I spent some time on our veranda as well as walking the deck.
We attended three excellent lectures. I am very impressed with the quality of speakers Viking has onboard. Most of the speakers are retired from academics, industry or military and were considered experts in their field. They all have stated they enjoy traveling. By being a speaker, I assume they get free travel as well as a small financial supplement.
I mentioned how excellent the acoustics in the showroom is. The video is also fantastic. Instead of a projection system, they have a stage filling video panel which gives excellent quality video as well as super visual effects.
After relaxing a little more (yes, this life is tiring), we had dinner and attended the evening show which was performed by the Viking singers. It was a tribute to singing duos. They are quite talented.
Since today is another sea day, there is not a lot to tell so I will share a few photos from around the ship.

What a nice coffee maker!

5:30 AM, the crew is already getting the sports deck ready for guests
One side of the World Cafe, for casual buffet meals. I took this through the window as I was walking.
Safety is taken very seriously. At 10:00AM there was a safety drill for the crew. It lasted a full hour. This was at the end of the drill as I was coming back to my cabin. You saw everyone from front office to cooks in the hallways and stairwells. I appreciate their preparedness.
A look down our looong hallway.
These are two of the four rooms in the fitness center. The other two consists of an open exercise room and a free weight room. In the mornings they are full.
We attended another lecture this morning and then had lunch.
If anything exciting happens today, I will do an update to this post. Otherwise, we have our first port tomorrow, Honolulu. Having been here a couple of times before for more extended stays, we were only going to do the included tour. After hearing the tour description at the port talk yesterday, we decided to cancel and just go into town on our own.
