It looks like it is going to be a good day, I see the sun breaking thru!
We arrived in Bali around noon on a Friday. The ocean front was very busy, this was not in the harbor area. Long before reaching Bali, I noticed many fishing vessels in the early morning.
There were a number of para-sails. It looks like fun, but I think I will pass this time.
This is the view as we entered the harbor.
We had a 5 hour included tour soon after our arrival. After a 45 minute coach ride through the capital city of Denpasar, we arrived at a market. This market looked much more modern than the one we visited in 2015.
After entering, we found it was not much different.
As usual in these types of markets, you are assaulted with people trying to sell you something. It's the young ones like this little boy who breaks your heart.
Here I found some "market humor" wall art.
This view was from the upper floor of the market.
Kay, Janet and Carl with their obligatory knee coverings. I got by with just a sash since I was wearing pants.
I have no photos. There were some good exhibits, but unfortunately there were only a few English subtitles and no dates, which I thought unusual. For example on an old rifle, the description was "wood and iron, used in war".
Following the museum we visited a hotel where a Balinese tradition dance was performed. It was interesting because the dancers eyes were very much a part of the dance. Guests were invited to try the dance, but I declined.
On the way back to the ship, I noted the traffic. It was as bad as I remembered it from our last trip. We had near collisions on more than one occasion.
Kay and I have an 8 hour 4x4 tour thru the countryside tomorrow. Janet and Carl are doing a beach resort excursion. They were scheduled for the 4x4 tour, but Carl's back was a concern for this tour.
