Today is another sea day with not much to report. The day was cloudy, hot and humid from daybreak to sunset. I didn't even get a walk today.
After breakfast, we attended three 45 minute lectures at 9:00, 10:00 and 11:00. They were all excellent.
The first was about the fish and corals and their symbiotic relationship in the Great Barrier Reef.
The second lecture was by Captain Vikram Hede called "Strait Facts". Captain Hede is the pilot who is onboard to help navigate us through the Great Barrier Reef and thru the Torres Strait. He is one of the highly specialized captains of the Australian Reef Pilots. Captain Hede is also a Master Reef Guide.
He gave a fascinating program about the Torres Strait, it's people and the history of ship wrecks in the area.
Our third lecture was by Nitza Lowenstein entitled "Australia's Unique Landscapes". This was a fascinating program which went state by state thru Australia showing the beautiful and unique landscape features. Some of these we have seen, but many we had never even heard of. It was a very interesting program.
After lunch we rested until our port talk for tomorrows destination, Whitsunday Islands. Then it was dinner and now bedtime. Good Night...
